Radiowave Surgery

The Animal Hospital of Waynesboro is pleased to offer radiosurgery to our patients.  The doctors at the Animal Hospital of Waynesboro have over ten years of experience with radiosurgery.

How does it work?
Ultra-high frequency radiowaves are used for surgery to cut tissue and stop bleeding.  The radiowave actually causes the individual cells to vaporize which minimizes the amount of tissue damage around the cut.  The radiowave also cauterizes the blood vessels and stops bleeding.

Benefits of Radiosurgery
  • Decreased post-operative pain because it seals nerve endings.
  • Decreased post-operative swelling.
  • Less blood loss and cleaner surgical fields.
  • Reduced risk of infection because bacteria are vaporized.
  • Faster recovery.
  • Does not cause burning or high temperature tissue damage like lasers.
