Dr. Greg Lorenz:  Greg Lorenz, DVM, graduated from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000.  He received the Merck Manual Award for graduating in the top ten percent of his class and was a member of the Phi Zeta Honor Society.  Dr. Lorenz received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Cornell University in 1996.  He has been an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association and the Virginia Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Lorenz worked originally as a mixed animal practitioner in the Adirondacks in upstate New York.  After about a year, he gave up working with cows and horses to focus entirely on dog and cat medicine and surgery.  Dr. Lorenz practiced in a busy small animal hospital in southern Maryland for about five years before joining the Animal Hospital of Waynesboro in 2006.  In October of 2008 he took ownership of the hospital and is the Director of Medicine.    His professional interests include surgery (soft tissue and orthopedics), as well as ultrasound and internal medicine.  Dr. Lorenz shares his home with his wife Jen, their two children, Maggie and Sam, two mixed-breed dogs named Gus and Duck, and three cats - Annie, Ju Ju Bee Jones and Mr. Potato-Head (his kids named the kittens).  In his spare time, he enjoys gardening, fishing and reading.

Dr. Valerie Weiss: Valerie Weiss, DVM, graduated from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia in 2003.   While there, she was honored with the Idexx award in Clinical Pathology, Hill's "Buddy" award in Small Animal Nutrition, the "Tucker" award for interest in geriatric medicine, and the Outstanding Senior award.  She was also a member of Phi Zeta Honor Society.

Dr. Weiss completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology at Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota in 1992 where she was a member of Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society.  After graduating Magna Cum Laude, she worked for four years in science education before returning  to graduate school at the College of William and Mary.  After completing a Master of Science in Biology, she realized there was no avoiding her interest in veterinary medicine and returned to school yet again!  Currently, she is a member of the Blue Ridge Veterinary Medical Association, the Virginia Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association. 

Dr. Weiss has been at the Animal Hospital of Waynesboro since 2003.  Her professional interests include internal medicine and nutrition.  Originally from Staunton, Virginia, Dr. Weiss shares her home with her husband Tom, son Joseph, 2 dogs, Sadie and Katy, and 5 cats,  Walter, Seraphina, Soleus and Daisy.  She is a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, she enjoys gardening, reading, music, and contra dancing.

Dr. Jennifer L. Ratigan: Jennifer L. Ratigan, DVM, gradutated from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia in 1999.  She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology while at the State University of New York in Geneseo, New York in 1992.  She is an active member of the American Veterinary Medicine Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, and the Virginia Veterinary Medical Association.  Dr. Ratigan was awarded a United States Army Health Professions Scholarship and served in the United States Army Veterinary Corps from 1999 - 2002.  While in the United States Army, Dr. Ratigan was responsible for the medical care of over 120 military working dogs.  She worked as an associate veterinarian at England Run Veterinary Clinic in Fredericksburg, VA from 2002 - 2004 and joined the Animal Hospital of Waynesboro team in 2004. 

Originally from Canandigua, New York, Dr. Ratigan currently resides with her husband, Christopher, their daughter, Autumn, and son, Chase.  They also share their home with their 2 dogs, Tanis and Maddie, and 1 cat, Hokie.  Her professional interests include internal medicine, puppy training, and dentistry.  In her spare time, she enjoys reading, playing the piano, and being with her family.


Dr. Michelle Weeks:  Originally from South Florida, Michelle Weeks, DVM graduated with honors from the University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2000.  She then completed an intensive fourteen-month small animal internship at Hollywood Animal Hospital in Hollywood, Florida.  Since then Dr. Weeks has practiced as a small animal Veterinarian at an animal hospital in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.  However, after spending most of her life in southern Florida, Dr. Weeks was tired of the hurricanes and beautiful winter weather and decided to move to Waynesboro, Virginia.  Dr. Weeks earned her Bachelors degree in Biology from the University of Virginia in 1996, and has many wonderful memories of the area.

Nominated as "Best Veterinarian of 2008" by the Morris Animal Foundation, Hill's and Dog and Cat Fancy Magazines, Dr. Weeks enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine.  Dr. Weeks has special interests in dermatology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, internal medicine and soft tissue surgery.

Dr. Weeks currently lives in Waynesboro with her husband Michael, daughter Maggie, dogs Frannie and Arthur, and cat Houdini. In her free time Dr. Weeks enjoys traveling to exotic foreign lands, photography, reading, and foiling her Pug Frannie's various attempts to take over the world.

Dr. Robert Partridge:  Robert Partridge, DVM, graduated from Ohio State University in 1974.  While there, he was a member of Phi Zeta Honor Society, and graduated Summa Cum Laude.  He was awarded with the Upjohn Small Animal Clinician Award, the American Veterinary Medical Association Professionalism Award, and the OTS Senior Award.  He received his bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana in 1968, and his Master of Science in Zoology from Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio in 1970.  He has been a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Virginia Veterinary Medical Association, and has served as President and Vice-President of the Blue Ridge Veterninary Medical Association.  He is currently a member of the American Animal Hospital Association.

Dr. Partridge was formerly the director of the Veterinary Technology program at Blue Ridge Community College, and has been practicing in small animal medicine and surgery since 1974.  He was the director of the Animal Hospital of Waynesboro.  Dr. Partridge remains active in the local community as a member of the Waynesboro Kiwanis Club and Roundtable.  Originally from Elgin, Illinois, Dr. Partridge shares his home with wife Jeanne.  Megan and Heather, their adult daughters are pursuing careers in medicine and education.  His professional interests include surgery, internal medicine and ophthalmology.  When he is not involved with home renovation and yard care, he enjoys keeping up with athletics.  Dr. Partridge retired from practice in December of 2008.
